Originally from small-town Saskatchewan, Janelle is an in-demand session singer based out of Edmonton, Alberta and can be heard singing for many Edmonton, Calgary, and Montreal-based musicians.  She regularly performs with several bands including the young, multitalented Melisizwe Brothers (performed on The Ellen [DeGeneres] Show and for Steve Harvey at the Apollo Theatre and Times Square, and recently won America’s Most Musical Family), HipHop artist K-Riz (shared the stage with BigBoi from OutKast, Thundercat, and Ne-Yo), The Million Dollar Dreamers house band at Halley’s Club, and as a session musician for Vissia, recently on tour across Canada with alternative-rock duo USS, as well as performing in acoustic duos, jazz trios, corporate party bands, and as a solo artist.

She has performed in multiple settings as well as taking the role as lead choreographer for large, high energy, showcase-style concerts.  These include lead vocal and dance performances at the 415-seat Triffo Theatre, 2500-seat Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium, 360-seat John L. Haar Theatre, CBC Radio, mainstage at the Calgary Stampede and Taste of Edmonton, North Country Fair, MacEwan’s Mad Hatters Gala, The Rec Room, 700 capactity Algonquin Commons Theatre in Ottawa, 900 capacity Union Hall, and 1000-person capacity Midway Music, as well as many other Edmonton venues. 

In 2018, Janelle graduated with a Bachelor of Music in Jazz & Contemporary Music majoring in Vocal Performance at MacEwan University.  During her time at MacEwan University, Janelle also toured Central Canada with MacEwan’s Showcase Band under the direction of Dr. Bill Richards (Chair; Music Dept & Head of Piano and Theory at MacEwan University) and has had the privilege of studying vocal technique under Chandelle Rimmer (Head of Vocal Department at MacEwan University; performed with Tommy Banks, PJ Perry & Sheila Jordan), Rhonda Withnell (featured at two of Canada's premiere jazz clubs; performed alongside Saturday Night Live's Lenny Pickett), Julie Golosky, and Carol-Lynne Quinn (internationally sought-after vocal coach and songwriter; Canada's Music Incubator Vocal Instructor; performed with Mother Mother, USS, Dear Rouge; EMA Rock Recording of the Year). 

 Janelle is also a singer/songwriter who loves exploring a variety of styles, including R&B, Gospel, Soul, HipHop, and Jazz.  She released her first single as a solo artist, WHISPER, in 2020 and has an upcoming single release, LET GO in March 2022. Check them out on the “Solo Music” page.
